Lunch and Learns

Lunch and learns are a great way to bring nutrition education to your corporate offices.  Settings can be as small as a conference room of 6-8, up to a lunch room or auditorium group of 50+ people. Generally they are 60 minutes in length. Handouts, including recipes, are included as part of the take-away message of every presentation.

Some  recent topics have included:

  • Feeding your Mood
  • Eating to Boost Immunity
  • Gut Health and Happiness
  • Mindful instead of mindless eating
  • Eating healthy at the office
  • Clean eating: what does it really mean?
  • Eating out: stay on track and avoid the pitfalls

*the above-listed topics are just a few of the presentations available. Presentations can always be customised for the group and length of time required.

Health Fairs and Special Events

Special “wellness” days are becoming more frequent as part of employee health services. Including a dietitian in these days can provide fun and useful advice – and direct employees to credible sources of more in-depth information as required. A dietitian can provide ideas for healthy snacks and lunch boxes, as well as answer questions about commonly discussed workplace “diet” topics like fad diets and feeding picky children. Ideas like raffles for healthy cookbooks and visits with a registered dietitian are often a great way to engage employees in their health and wellbeing.

Individual Nutritional Counseling

Meeting with individual employees onsite means receiving required information without having to leave work or take time off to go to the dietitian’s office for their appointment. Employees will be more likely to make the appointment they may otherwise avoid, and feel more comfortable to share in their nutrition if the setting is less “clinical.”

Some of the offices that have taken part in these services include (among others): SAP, Aldo, FuzeHR, Glossier and Accenture.
